Implementation Consultant II
Job Description
GHX is seeking a customer-focused Implementation Consultant II to execute technical planning, architecture, implementation, and installation of on-premises and cloud GHX Inventory Management software solutions that result in a successful deployment within each customer’s environment. This position requires extensive travel within North America. The Implementation Consultant II will be responsible for managing assigned implementation projects for GHX's Inventory Management business unit. Will work to ensure a high quality of service is delivered to GHX customers through all assigned projects.
Will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day implementation and operations aspects of the client relationship, achievement of service levels, as well as execution on key projects with specific focus on client utilization and satisfaction. Will develop project objectives and plans, as well as work with the Client and Sales organization to manage priorities and expectations. Â
Will work cross-functionally in a matrix role, and focus on achieving required service levels, meeting project timelines, and addressing services and client issues as required.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Provides exceptional service to assigned accounts.
- Plan, architect, implement, and install Inventory Management software solutions; this includes assessing the customer’s current workflow environment, supporting the creation of the business analysis, configuring the Inventory Management database, installing the Inventory Management system software, performing end-to-end system testing, integrating with external systems (such as ERPs and EHRs), and training the customers system’s administrator and help desk.
- Troubleshoot customer environments to optimize the performance of the Inventory Management system.
- Instruct technical training courses for customers and implementation partners.
- Develop and document best practices and deployment guidelines; contribute to the Technical Support knowledge base; develop technical training materials.
- Collaborate with clinical leads to assist in the collection of workflow requirements and architect a workflow to meet clinical and technical requirements.
- Transfer knowledge to Inventory Management customer’s technical staff to enable them to successfully maintain Inventory Management solutions.
- Coordinate activities with the Inventory Management Sales and Services teams.
- Effectively communicate project status to team members and stakeholders in a timely, consistent, and clear manner
- Leads implementation projects in accordance with the scope of work sold to the customer.
- Develops, tracks, and reports against customer specific project plans.
- Provides train-the-trainer customer education, as needed.
- Assists customers with the deployment of GHX functionality.
- Ensures customers receive value and achieves high degrees of utilization from GHX products and services.
- Maintains and communicates project status, to include identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinates with other GHX departments and Solution Delivery staff members to ensure customer objectives are met.
- Works towards operational excellence and continual quality improvement to drive an optimal GHX customer experience, as well as internal efficiency.
- Participates with the development and maintenance of best practice implementation methodologies.

- Effective organizational and multi-tasking skills with ability to manage multiple simultaneous customer engagements.
- Exposure to integrating with ERP systems.
- Successful track record integrating with third party systems utilizing HL7.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, document and negotiate customer requirements.
- Efficient, organized, self-starter capable of managing competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with customers, partners, and internal teams through strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to teach technical courses and present information to technical audiences.
- Exceptional client management, project management and interaction skills.
- Self-motivation and a strong work ethic are essential to success.
- Must possess outstanding communication, analytical, planning, coordination, and negotiation skills, as well as a track record of developing and maintaining strong business relationships.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a customer-facing technical services or support role.
- In depth experience installing, administering, and troubleshooting Microsoft server-based environments.
- Proven experience with structured implementation methodologies, with an emphasis on end-to-end testing of complex systems including troubleshooting skills.
- Experience deploying technology in the healthcare market is highly desired or similar experience in other services industries such as supply chain and warehouse.
- Proven history of success in an implementation or project management role, preferably in a healthcare IT environment.
- Ability to configure applications, with knowledge of front-end business process applications.
- Experience or competency to perform application training sessions to customer project teams, lead process and application training sessions.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Dedication to customer service, with strong client management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Excel)
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to travel up to 40%-60%. Mainly throughout North America to US Hospitals
Estimated salary range: $60,300 - $70,000
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
