Job Description

Job Description

This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from home.

We are looking for an outstanding communicator, detail-oriented organizer who loves customer service to drive the business by creating illustrations for in-force policies covering a wide range of life insurance products, companies, and administrative systems. Provide information to customers via written correspondence, telephone conversations, and personal contact, including advice on what illustrations to order, and how in-force contracts can be altered to achieve stated goals. Work independently with minimal assistance.

At Ameritas, our mission is Fulfilling Life. We do that in many ways, but especially by helping people invest in themselves by offering trusted financial products and advice. Because we believe everyone should be happy, healthy and financially secure, we work hard to provide trusted financial products and valued guidance, including individual life and disability insurance, employee benefits, retirement planning, investments, and wealth management services.

What you do

  • Accurately create in-force illustrations in response to a wide range of requests for multiple products maintained on a variety of administrative systems. Be familiar with other service functions outside of in-force illustrations.
  • Communicate with agents, clients, and Home Office staff via written correspondence, telephone conversations, and personal contact. Communication topics may include explanations of illustrations provided, status updates, advice on what illustrations to order, and how in-force contracts can be altered to achieve stated goals. When communicating, handle difficult situations by using negotiating skills to resolve conflict.
  • Consistently exceed customer expectations by displaying courtesy and sensitivity. Display a commitment to excellence to our clients, field force, and home office staff by responding to requests in a timely manner and keeping commitments.
  • Maintain an understanding of various insurance products, their contract features and limitations, and the extent to which the products can be adjusted while in-force, along with any potential tax consequences of these adjustments.
  • Maintain an understanding of policy-related correspondence and statements (e.g., policies/contracts, confirmations, quarterly and annual statements, letters, forms, etc).
  • Stay abreast of departmental, company, industry and regulatory changes that affect the position.
  • Promote company core values and support company standards.
  • Employee has the duty to comply with all applicable insurance laws and regulations and with approved company policies, practices and procedures related to ethical market conduct activities. Employee further has the responsibility to immediately report known or suspected violations of laws, regulations and company policies, practices and procedures to the company's compliance officer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent industry experience
  • 1-3 years of related experience required.
  • Life Insurance or Financial Services industry experience highly preferred
  • Must obtain SIE/Series 99 or Series 6 license within 12 months of employment, if not already held.
  • Must demonstrate continual progress toward attainment of industry designations (FLMI, ACS, etc.)
  • Excellent PC skills, especially keyboarding, MS Office suite of applications, and ability to work on several different systems simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while remaining organized.

What We Offer

  • Our company motto is "Fulfilling Life" and we take that job seriously, with a heavy commitment to volunteering and community support, employee well-being, and providing quality products and services that help our customers create a brighter future.
  • Being a mutual-based organization, the return on our investment goes back into the company, to benefit our members/customers.
  • We're committed to professional development, opportunity, inclusion and diversity. Team building and collaboration are also priorities.
  • A total rewards package with all the comprehensive health and welfare benefits you'd expect, including competitive pay and incentives, 401(k), flexible work schedules and time off to care for yourself and others.
  • Additional popular benefits, including tuition reimbursement, and student loan repayment, an incentivized well-being program, adoption assistance, paid time off for volunteering, training and career development opportunities.
