Job Description
The Incoming Exceptions Analyst is responsible for the daily resolution of exception items, returned checks, decisioning checks to pay or return, and send out notifications to clients through communication with consumer and commercial services to ensure all items are identified and processed timely and accurately. The items include NSF/OD, un-posted debits and credits, stop payments, paperless items, matching mail items, rework items, and capturing check images. The analyst is also responsible for timely reconciliation of GL accounts, balancing End of Day decisions back to IP, returning checks, and sending High dollar return notifications.

How You'll Spend Your Time
- You will process non-sufficient funds, overdraft items, un-posted debits and credits, stop payments, paperless items, match mail items, rework items and capture check images.
- You will process the queues involving authorizing over-rides for frozen accounts, holds and return items.
- You will write up cash letters, capture check images and provide assistance to customers to resolve differences.
- You will process manual returns, paper returns and handle daily balancing and reconciliation of all fraud, ACH and exception items.
- You will process incoming items received from other banks and research missing items with no image.
- You will prepare various reports that show production results.
Education & Experience Requirements
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate's Degree in Business related field and 2-3 years' experience in check processing, account balancing, bank operations, return items, or NSF/Overdraft type work or equivalent work related experience of 3-4 years.
