The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Security Specialist, to develop, implement and administer the Industrial Security Program for the National Air and Space Intelligence Center considered vital to the Center's mission and national security.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: technical knowledge of a wide range of industrial, information and physical security concepts, principles and practices to carry out daily assignments independently; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials and develop local guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices to manage/implement the NASIC Industrial Security Program.
2. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
3. Knowledge of intelligence enterprise to support and promote industrial, information and physical security strategies.
4. Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security programfor the organization.
5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
6. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with co-workers, counterparts and customers, to create and maintain a cooperative work environment and to successfully accomplish the mission.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT'D:
1. Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
3. Department of Defense Physical Security Certification (PSC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
