Role Summary
The Inflight Reporting Specialist is responsible for reporting activities of the Inflight Division at Alaska Airlines. This role will support the Safety Management System (SMS) 4 components: Safety Policy, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotion. This will be accomplished by processing Flight Attendant Irregularity Reports (FAIRs), assisting with low-level safety investigations, including operational and injury, determining root causes, highlighting observed safety trends as disclosed within the assurance venues, and ensuring stakeholders are notified, enabling the implementation of corrective actions as appropriate.
As a member of the Inflight team, this individual contributor role interfaces with other divisions.
Key Duties
- Focus on processing the FAIRs, to be processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Utilize the Safety Risk Matrix to analyze and process FAIRs, identifying appropriate risk levels.
- Represent Inflight by reaching out to Flight Attendants to obtain supplementary information on FAIRs if required.
- Assist in low-level safety investigations that occur in the operation.
- Assist with Safety risk assessments in the Inflight Organizational.
- Assist with the coordination of Data Analysis Group and Safety Review Board Meetings.
- Develop positive, productive working relationships across organizational levels and work cooperatively with peers within and outside of the department.
- Influence cross-divisionally to enhance current systems.
- Provide feedback and partner with other divisional, and cross-divisional, meetings as needed.
- Provide input to and partners with the Manager and team on the creation and updating of team SOPs.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including serving as a Management Flyer when needed.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
- 2 years of experience in administration, data entry, report processing and coordination, or related area or a Bachelor's Degree.
- Ability to successfully complete 5-6 weeks of Flight Attendant Training (if not already qualified as an AS Flight Attendant) and maintain certification as a Flight Attendant by attending Recurrent Training annually and keeping up to date with all required CBTs.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Able and willing to attend additional Data Technology Classes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work under limited supervision.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Alaska Airlines route system as needed.
- Must be able to complete all required SMS training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Inflight or Flight Attendant experience.
- Aviation Safety experience.
- Knowledge of data analysis protocols.
- Thorough knowledge of the Flight Attendant Manual.
- Knowledge of FAA/TSA regulations.

Salary Range
$62,250 - $87,150 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
