Information (Data) Analyst

As the Information Analyst, you will be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to define and document data requirements, and assess the integrity of the corresponding data in support of various value-based healthcare and performance management initiatives. Additionally, this individual will identify data dependencies and relationships, develop logical and physical data models, create data flow and system activity diagrams, and write specifications for inbound and outbound data streams. The Information Analyst will also support the analytic design team and technical project managers to ensure that all aspects of data processing, information analysis and requirements gathering are completed with the highest degree of accuracy and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Solve complex data-related problems using a variety of technical and analytical skills
- Assess and organize raw data from a variety of sources.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in master data management, metadata management, and data governance operations.
- Develop key documentation, including file specifications, data architecture diagrams, companion guides and technical playbooks supporting bundled payment models and episodes of care.
- Identify opportunities and develop solutions to improve the efficiency of processing and storing data and information
- Maintain master code set library, which is composed of various standard biomedical vocabularies.
Position Requirements:
- 5+ years experience managing enterprise-wide healthcare data
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business, healthcare or computational field
- Understanding of business process and entity relationship modeling, source-to-target documents, use case and activity diagrams, and use case specifications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and technical writing skills
- Expert at data manipulation and/or statistical analysis using SQL, Python and/or R.
- Experience with cloud-based data management platforms, such as those offered by the Amazon Web Services (AWS), as well as relational and NoSQL databases
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain advanced data concepts to software engineers, database developers and architects, non-technical end users, and senior executives
- Ability to adapt and stay flexible in a fast-paced environment, prioritize critical tasks and maintain a high degree of accuracy amid competing deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.Â
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in biomedical informatics, health information management, computer science or other related field
- Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models, alternative payment models (APMs), and medical economics
- Experience with ETL tools and cloud-based data warehouse solutions
