Position Overview

Autodesk is on a journey to re-architect its Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Design tools for the cloud. Working directly for the AEC Design VP of Software Architecture, you can help us make this journey a success. You'll learn about our industry and our existing software landscape, and then organize that information so we get the most out of it. And you'll help your software architecture colleagues define their vision, and then share that with the rest of the company. This is a job for someone who enjoys the rigor of a good definition and clear taxonomy, who enjoys the scale of a multi-year, globe-spanning effort, and loves to see the customer impact of their work.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strategy and information architecture for the software architecture function within the AEC Design organization
• Learn Autodesk's AEC product line, new technologies, and the AEC industry to inform your work
• Research existing information sources to assess available materials and identify gaps therein
• Working with your colleagues, create new documentation where gaps in existing materials exist
• Develop templates, process, and methods to scale your efforts via the participation of others
• Assist with the cadence, writing, and publication for VP of Software Architecture internal communications
• Participate in honest and respectful debate on priorities, strategies, and tactics related to your work
• Maintain and administer Confluence and SharePoint sites
• Use analytics to develop insights on the adoption and use of materials developed

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of experience as an Information Architect, or equivalent work
• A proven ability to learn and write about programming, APIs, SDKs, machine learning, cloud computing, graphics, or similar technologies
• An ability and desire to get things done without the need for external deadlines or daily oversight

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree in Information Science, or equivalent field
• Basic data handling skills, sufficient to work with data on the consumption of documents, blog posts, and the like
• Experience with Confluence, Word, SharePoint, GitHub
