About Our Team
The special projects department was established to focus on the successful deployment of Integrated Surety Architectures (ISA) applications for reentry body and air delivered systems into the transportation safeguards system embodied by the Safeguards Transporter (SGT). The organization serves as the ISA project integration office at Sandia to the NNSA enterprise for over the road (OTR) applications. Currently, there are two major ISA efforts underway at SNL for ALT 940 and the Multi-application Transportation Attachment Device (MTAD) for air delivered systems. As such, the organization interacts extensively with the NW development and stockpile systems capabilities within the laboratory in addition to the transportation safeguards program.

Security Clearance
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Support the development of and document the definition of project objectives, requirements, results, budgets, and schedules.
- Prepare and present reports and/or briefings for communication of program information and information systems to peers, management, and external partners.
- Collaborate with other department and project leads and information systems users to ensure successful integration of Knowledge Management efforts.
- Develop, document, and implement Knowledge Management program strategies, procedures, and guidance as applicable to ISA-OTR.
- Work with the customer to define and realize information system requirements that enable mission function and performance.
- Configure broad programs on and assist in the management of multiple networks (Classified and Unclassified) of multiple nuclear weapon information and transportation elements.
- Handle, store and organize classified digital information.
- Manage and communicate an information hub on Standard Operating Procedures
- Provide classification support regarding existing policies and determinations
- Provide policy information as it pertains to a specific circumstance
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Business Management, plus five (5) years' of related experience; Or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Knowledge Management Certification and/or have experience doing Knowledge Management for over 5 Years.
- Active DOE Q-level security clearance or DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain additional clearances that will require a polygraph test.
Qualifications We Desire
- Experience in project management practices for technical work that includes:
- Developing procedure or plans
- Work breakdown structures familiarity
- Customization of complex information management (IM) systems
- Collaboration with customers and peers to establish changing KM/IM needs and solutions
- Ability to train staff and customers (as needed) regarding established Knowledge Management practices
- Familiarity in preparing and presenting on various mediums to include Microsoft TEAMs.
- Derivative Classifier
- Demonstrated ability to team across different fields and project cohorts
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Current experience at a national laboratory
- Experience in unclassified and classified organizational information systems
- Knowledge and experience providing direction on the handling, storage, presenting, maintaining and collaboration of data on information systems
- Experience in SharePoint and Confluence collaboration environments.
- Ability to handle and manage classified document/material
- Provides KM solutions on existing information processes/workflows and coordinates with team members to develop Courses of Action for the display, handling, storage, processing, and data mining of various lab information
- Advises on process improvement opportunities regarding information work processes and gathers lessons-learned from various collaborative teams for management consideration
- Analyzes and facilitates the gathering, transforming/creating, and transferring of project data and information into existing classified and unclassified information systems
- Ability to utilizes, conceptualizes, interpret, and communicate information in the Laboratory Policy System
