Dev Ops Engineer to help Network Access Engineering team with Infrastructure as code

Job Description:

PayPal Enterprise Cyber Security Network Access Engineering team is looking to hire an DevOps - Security Engineer. You will have the opportunity to collaborate and work with the team on a variety of security tools including infrastructure as code projects, DLP, Proxy, IDS, VPN, VDI and more. Your primary focus will be DevOps style automation of manual tasks. You will be involved in several projects and sprint-based development to help streamline processes and increase efficiency of the team. Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for automating of processes from beginning to end. The successful candidate will be able to work with the team and identify new opportunities for automation as well as having tasks assigned to them.
  • Deploy & maintain infrastructure as code in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Own change and configuration management for existing and new infrastructure.
  • Implement & track changes to configuration on different nodes and instances.
  • Customize, support, and maintain all code developed in GIT repositories.
  • Develop automations of complex tasks which may interface between two or more systems from ticket creation through completion of a ticket.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Automate planned actions such as upgrades, DR plans, etc.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years automation experience with PowerShell, Python, or other equivalent language
  • 3+ years' experience with REST and/or SOAP API automation
  • 1-3 years' experience with databases such as MS SQL or MySQL
  • 1-3 years of network administration, or system administration experience
  • 1-3 years system administration with Microsoft or Linux servers
  • 1-3 years of experience with Terraform and related tools like CloudFormation
  • 1-3 years of experience with Puppet with knowledge on maintaining and customizing modules
  • 1-3 years of experience with Python
  • Experience working with Cloud (SaaS/IaaS) services
  • Experience with proxy administration. Squid, Zscaler, BlueCoat, etc.
  • Experience with Anti-Virus or Data Loss Prevention tools a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, Nutanix, or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to follow task and execution plans.
  • Strong documentation skills, architectural / engineering diagrams, product documentation, etc.
