ABOUT THIS ROLE
PEAK6 Capital Management is looking for a skilled Information Security Engineer to strengthen our team in Chicago. In this role, you will be instrumental in analyzing our security measures, ensuring that our systems and data adhere to security standards through vigorous assessment and monitoring. Working closely with the information security and IT teams, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our information assets.
Responsibilites:

  • Monitor systems and networks for security anomalies and potential breaches.
  • Conduct detailed security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Review and analyze security logs and data from various sources within the IT infrastructure.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of incident response plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities and improve security posture.
  • Participate in the implementation and testing of new security solutions and updates.
  • Support compliance efforts with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist with risk assessments and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
  • Keep abreast of the latest security threats, trends, and countermeasures.
  • Provide detailed reports and feedback on security findings and incidents to senior management.
  • Offer support and guidance on information security matters to colleagues and stakeholders across the organization.


YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the following tools:
    • General SaaS: Atlassian Jira/Confluence, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom
    • Infosec Tooling: Rapid7, SentinelOne, Netskope, ProofPoint, Palo Alto FW, Exabeam, Google Chronicle
    • Identity Management: Active Directory, OKTA, Cisco Duo
  • 4-5 years of experience in an information security role, preferably as a Security Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, risk management, and compliance assessments (NIST CSF).
  • Experience with tools and practices for monitoring network and application security.
  • Proficient in analyzing security logs and identifying patterns of irregular activities.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC) would be advantageous.

The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
