The Opportunity:

Our Information Security Summer Intern will support active and strategic efforts under the direction of our Lead for Information Security in the United States, which includes several global topics and projects. All applicants must be able and willing to work 20 hours per week from June 5th to August 11th, with one day of the week in our Durham, NC office. This internship will pay $16/hour.

Your Mission:

You will complete research on information security-related products and services, designing new processes and workflows, creating and testing online request forms, education, security articles, outreach, and awareness presentations. Your knowledge and career are important to us: this role reports directly to our US Lead for Information Security, who will provide training and coaching on various global information security best practices, frameworks, career guidance, and other security-focused topics and trends.  

What you need to succeed:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A flexible and effective approach to assignments and task management
• Detail-oriented research and analysis
• Focus with a professional approach to work, communication, reliability, and time management
• Experience creating slide decks in PowerPoint and/or Google Sheets
• Experience using and/or creating Google Forms

Nice to have:

• A major in Computer Science and/or Information Security is beneficial, but not required
• Experience with web authoring articles, and/or posts
• Scripting knowledge (ex: Python)
• Information security training, classes, and/or professional hands-on experience
