Salary Range

$86,300 - $166,800

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

Do you want to be part of a team that works on innovative science and engineering information solutions for National Security missions? We are seeking an experienced and motivated Information Systems Engineering Project Manager (PM) to join us at Sandia National Laboratories. The PM will collaborate and partner closely with the teams developing and supporting digital engineering solutions for the Product Realization Integrated Digital Enterprise model based engineering and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) initiatives across the complex.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Plan and coordinate technical engineering initiatives.
  • Be responsible for managing action items and deliverables.
  • Analyze and develop reports on cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Apply functions of standard information systems frameworks such as ITI and/or CMMI, and methodologies such as Agile, iterative, spiral and waterfall, in managing and tracking the execution of projects.
  • Manage project scope and changes using change management, identifies potential issues, and devises contingency plans, as necessary.
  • Identify project risks and respond by developing risk mitigation strategies, corrective actions, risk acceptance recommendations or avoidance for all aspects of the project.
  • Work with teams to identify efficiencies and conducts lessons learned for process improvement.
  • Effectively address project concerns with management.
Due to the nature of this work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business Management, or relevant field, plus five (5) years of project management experience.
  • Experience managing engineering or IT projects.
  • Experience with project tracking and management tools, including Jira.
  • Experience with managing agile systems delivery efforts.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L or Q clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Technical knowledge of the project's information systems domain (for example, software engineering, system administration, network engineering, information assurance).
  • Demonstrated and outstanding skills in project management and written communication to influence a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to articulate the plan and implement the project to successful completion.
  • Proficiency in processes, tools, and applications commonly used in information systems development and project management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the full product development life cycle, enterprise-wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process engineering, and structure and management practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to develop and nurture effective relationships internal and external to the organization.
  • Experience with Nuclear Weapons (NW) product development lifecycles.
  • Active DOE clearance.

The Science and Engineering Information Systems (SEIS) Organization (9350) is a highly integrated team of seven departments focused on delivering software and system solutions which impact Sandia's mission-critical programs. The SEIS organization is responsible for the management and execution of the NNSA's Product Realization Integrated Digital Enterprise (PRIDE) program which provides digital engineering and digital thread solutions to support the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) business processes to support the nuclear weapons lifecycle through innovation and collaboration.

Security Clearance
