Salary Range

$86,300 - $166,800

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Are you passionate about identifying and engaging in the resolution of sophisticated technical issues and want to help plan, implement, and execute services across Sandia while driving continuous improvement? We are seeking an experienced and motivated Information Systems Engineering Project Manager to join us at Sandia National Laboratories.
On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Make technical decisions, manages changes and configurations, risks, and quality, and recommends process improvements.
• Provide leadership and tactical planning for projects by applying technical information systems domain knowledge to achieve project objectives and achievements.
• Provide estimated cost and schedule for information systems projects.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and meet the technical requirements.
• Connect and verify products with customers - external, internal, across functional organizations.
• Understand the technical domain to identify task dependencies.
• Apply functions of standard information systems frameworks such as ITI and/or CMMI, and methodologies such as Agile, iterative, spiral and waterfall, in managing and tracking the execution of projects.
• Manage changes in project scope using change management, identifies potential issues, and devises contingency plans, as necessary.
• Identify potential project risks and responds by developing risk mitigation strategies, corrective actions, risk acceptance recommendations or avoidance for all aspects of the project.
• Analyze new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions that normally involve the schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management of the project.
• Develop and delivery status reporting, decision documents, and presentations.
• Work with teams to identify efficiencies and conducts lessons learned for process improvement.
• Effectively addresses project concerns with management.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business Management, or relevant field, plus five (5) years of project management experience.
• Experience managing engineering or IT related projects.
• Ability to aquire and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

• Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Technical knowledge of the project's information systems domain (for example, software engineering, system administration, network engineering, information assurance).
• Ability to make decisions requiring information systems engineering judgment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to articulate the plan and execute the project to successful completion.
• Proficiency in processes, tools, and applications commonly used in information systems development and project management.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a constantly changing environment.
• Ability to develop and nurture effective relationships internal and external to the organization.
• Experience with Nuclear Weapons (NW) product development lifecycles.
• Active DOE clearance.
