Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading and directing IT related projects from development through completion and ensuring successful output; outline the project goals and objectives, while acting as a liaison between the program staff, management and business groups. Manage status reporting, stability of assigned project-oriented work efforts, customer expectations for contracted time, cost, and requirements definitions. Provides a single point of contact for project assignments. Assembles project plans and teamwork assignments. Assists team members and program coordinators/project managers when needed to accomplish team goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Strategize and outline project goals and objectives and implement project budgets.• Define project controls/governance/standards while monitoring multiple projects through the entire project cycle.• Create project work plans and coordinate all IT related operational processes related to supporting new, changing and terminating projects.• Represent IT as a participant in the Product Development and Strategy Committee engaged in complex, high priority projects.• Partner with the Program Management and other Project Managers for enterprise deliverables• Partner with internal departments and external vendors for planning, resources and assessment of IT-related project needs, budgets and activities.• Anticipate issues, make recommendations and balance business needs and constraints.• Meet with management, sponsors, vendors and project teams to review project scope/progress and resolve project issues.• Serve as the central point of contact between the business and IT• Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of project management and development and project management principles and demonstrated success in launching projects that balance consumer needs and business goals.• Strong analytical skills• Possess strong oral and written communication skills.• Ability to write executive level documents.• Ability to work within cross-functional teams, build effective working relationships and resolve issues.• Ability to operate independently to navigate organizational complexities and move initiatives forward.• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.• Proficient in Microsoft applications.• Previous experience working teams utilizing agile methodologies
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, healthcare or related field preferred• Five or more years' experience in a project management position within insurance, or related industry.• Demonstrated experience utilizing project management tools such as Service Now, Teamwork, Jira Agile or similar.• Preference given to project managers who have also performed Business Analyst functions within an organization
