Information Technology Specialist
Job Description
Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Network Technology Specialist to support a team currently developing a virtual training device.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the developing, managing, and deploying multiple software image which complies with DoD standards including but limited to Secure Host Baseline, Unified Gold Master, STIGSs, and program-specific IT/IA standards as well as associated documentation and procedures
- Manage and maintain DevOps services for AVL development team: version control, build automation, issue tracking, and documentation
- Work with Torch corporate to monitor helpdesk and respond to development team message tickets, seek support from vendors when necessary
- Assist with periodic audits, including user access reviews, configuration compliance checks, and others
- Identify and report opportunities for process and service improvements
- Report software and hardware issues to Lead Program IA representative and Lead System Engineer and assist with developing courses of actions to fix the issue
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Experience creating, maintaining, and distributing Windows, LINUX and other OS configuration profiles
- BS degree related to IT/Networking; or in lieu of a degree, five years related experience
- Current/active CompTIA Security+ certification
- Familiarity with Unified Gold Standard and Secure Host Baseline
- Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework
- Familiarity with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guidance
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocol suite and OSI model, network security (firewalls, device hardening, NAT/PAT and VPN), IP routing (static, PBR, BGP, OSPF, RIP), switching (channeling, trunking, virtualization, stacking, QoS, spanning-tree), CIDR and IP addressing
- Familiarity with cloud-based development and networks for both DoD and commercial industries
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to develop, build and maintain multiple software images to meet DoD standards and/ or commercial standards to meet customer needs
- Ability to develop, build and maintain software images to meet commercial best practices
- Ability to provide Level-2 and/or 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Strong technical skills in the following areas:
- System image creation
- Endpoint troubleshooting
- Server maintenance/Troubleshooting
- Networking design and operation
- Cloud-based services
The candidate must be a U.S. citizen to meet requirements for obtaining a final secret security clearance.Inability to obtain a secret security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position. Candidate must be able to travel as needed.
