Position Title: Information Technology Specialist I

Reports to: IT Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing services related to software and hardware support. Such services include, troubleshooting, repair, support, and deployment.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Understanding of the computer hardware as well as underlying technologies.
  • Understanding of compatibilities between various hardware and software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot networked devices.
  • Able to use diagnostic utilities and other research tools for troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mobile devices, laptops, and desktop computers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems inside virtualized environments.
  • Ability to fill multiple roles simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Office productivity software, SQL databases and maintenance management software.
  • Skilled in Programming using HTML, CSS, PowerShell, PHP, C#.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support to end users on a variety of issues both on-site and remotely. Identify, research, and resolve technical problems. Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Identifies and procures the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements.
  • Assist with the installation of new hardware (peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, disk drives, etc.) and software and help train employees on its use.
  • Maintain system documentation and company IT assets Database.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades as directed by the IT manager.
  • Administer network and data security, including directory, group policy, firewalls, antivirus, email security, etc.
  • Create and maintain working images for all laptops and desktops in the asset pool.
  • Maintain company intranet page and associated content.
  • Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
  • Analyze data and generate reports based on relevant/current need.
  • Assess infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands.
  • Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, and enhance workflow.
  • Work with external partners, including consultants, agencies and vendors, to arrive at the most appropriate system or integration of multiple systems, as well as to support systems already in place.
  • Protect customer data from outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage and other necessary means.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple problems simultaneously.
  • Maintain spare device and accessory pool in all branches for use in the event of functional failure.
  • Various additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Work with all departments, employees, and visitors to ensure quality of customer service.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position is: Salary

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical discipline required. Optional certification in Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Certified IT Specialist. A minimum of 2 - 3 years of work experience is required.

Good attendance, including a timely arrival each day, is an essential function of this position.
