The Technology and Information Security Oversight team seeks to enhance our quantitative cyber risk oversight practice. As a passionate Data Analyst, you will leverage large volumes of data sets to generate insights for measuring existing Information Security risks and shaping future investments.

We are searching for cybersecurity, technology, risk, and data professionals to join the Technology and Information Security Oversight (TISO) organization as part of the newly formed Information Security Risk Analytics team. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for researching, mining, automating, analyzing, and reporting on large technology and security related data sets from disparate sources. Your data driven insights delivered to peers and senior leaders will be used to measure risk, maturity, and strategic planning.

Organizational Overview

Technology and Information Security Oversight (TISO) is responsible for providing Second Line of Defense (SLOD) oversight function over Technology, Data and Security. The team provides risk visibility with risk trending and risk analysis to effectively challenge the capability provided by First Line of Defense (FLOD) organization. All risk disciplines ensure PayPal meets its regulatory and business objectives.

Position Summary/Responsibilities

As a passionate Data Analyst, you will leverage large volumes of data sets to generate insights for measuring existing and shaping future cyber investments. Your expertise in performing data transformation, automation, mining, analytics, and visualization will be use by quantitatively answering questions on technology and security risk trends while developing or further strengthening your interdisciplinary understanding across cybersecurity, technology, and risk management.

In your day-to-day role you will:

• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and understand and aggregate data from disparate sources
• Work with large volumes of data; extract and manipulate large datasets using tools such as Python, SQL, Jupyter Notebooks, Splunk, Hadoop, BigQuery
• Perform In-depth analysis and communicate findings to senior leadership via visualizations and presentations
• Identify key metrics, conduct data analysis, create leadership facing dashboards that drive decision making and risk prioritization
• Work and collaborate with a diverse team of cybersecurity, technology, risk, and data professionals.
• Assist in building and being a part of a growing cybersecurity risk analytics team with org principles of "Being Transparent", "Do the Right Thing", and "Make it Simple".

Professional Qualifications:

• Data Driven Mindset
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Minimum 4 years experience in data science, analytics, cybersecurity, technology, and/or risk management field
• Experience with any or multiple of the following: Splunk, SQL, Python, Java, R, Jupyter Notebooks, Teradata, Hadoop, Linux
• Familiarity with data visualization tool such as Tableau and PowerBI
• BA/BS Preferably in STEM discipline
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC are preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex problems into simpler terms, and effectively influence both peers and senior leadership
