Onsite/Remote:Partial Remote Position
This position may be located in Moline, IL or Chicago, IL per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.
This position is eligible for partially remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As an Infrastructure Engineer , you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of changes to the information technology infrastructure within established processes. This level works on medium to high complexity infrastructure problems; applies technology to meet specific needs, focusing on tasks with some complexity. The role provides infrastructure support and maintenance by planning work and coordinating with others to deliver functionality on a complete infrastructure technology with varying levels of complexity. Ability to monitor, apply changes to, and/or manage current information technology infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance in an integrated environment
What Skills You Need
  • Hands-on experience with VMWare, Nutanix, Simplivity and other virtual technologies.
  • Programming/scripting experience in Windows, Unix/Linux, and Virtual environments, and/or languages such as Python or Perl
  • Functional experience in multiple server OS platforms and virtual environments
  • Knowledge of or experience with storage environments in the Data Center
  • Solid analytical skills and desire to gain further experience in evolving technologies

What Makes You Stand Out
  • Background in Infrastructure with hands-on experience in VMWare at the Enterprise level
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code, cloud, and version control systems.
  • Knowledge and experience coding/scripting to automate or improve monitoring.
  • Programming experience and willingness to learn new languages

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Infrastructure Technologies or equivalent experience

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge
Understanding of applications development environment, database, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints.
Ability to analyze, translate, and define business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellence in verbal and written communication forms with emphasis on persuasive communication, tact and negotiation.
Ability to apply engineering principles and concepts for designs.
Ability to manage many competing priorities/requests in a fast-paced environment
