Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The Infrastructure Engineer - Managed Detection and Response (MDR) is responsible for resolving routine to moderately complex system infrastructure issues both in the cloud and on-premises, while keeping the systems up and running during normal business hours. They also build and maintain all MDR deployments as required by our customers. The Infrastructure Engineer has a direct impact on Tyler's Cybersecurity team and their customers by providing and maintaining service deployments and data flow integrity.

  • Act as the lead Subject Matter Expert to configure and deploy MDR solutions, coordinating with the team and clients to ensure log collection and log feeds are generating quality data reliably to support detection and response activities.
  • Resolve data transmission issues in a timely manner.
  • Configure and maintain log collection in support of customer needs.
  • Research and implement options for new or improved technology.
  • Assist in maintaining MDR's internal and customer facing networks.
  • Coordinate with team to identify and add log generation sources to be analyzed.
  • Analyze system requirements and configure servers in support of customer needs, including new offerings or technologies.
  • Deploy and configure services in Windows operating systems.
  • Configure and monitor proprietary applications and network syslog services.
  • Respond to advanced customer data collection issues.
  • Provide escalation path for support calls from the MDR team and customers.
  • Be a technical resource for resolving complex issues related to the MDR service.
  • Multi-task by fielding client inquiries, resolving client issues of varying urgency, helping other team members etc.
  • Prioritize issues and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
  • Identify issue trends and recommend appropriate course of action to address.
  • Quickly master new offerings and technologies and provide effective training and consultation to internal clients.
  • Be an expert at troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to determine proper course of action for timely resolution.
  • Demonstrate ability to be professional, personable, proactive, and have a strong understanding

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of successful experience in IT.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS servers, virtualization, data storage, and networking.
  • Strong understanding of Windows systems administration and Windows server domain tools.
  • Strong understanding of network devices and how to configure them to generate logs.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, work as part of a team, and develop and train staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills, teamwork, and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude.
  • Technology certifications such as Network+ and Security+ welcomed.
