The Infrastructure Engineer will assist with the planning, forecasting and implementation of network and security systems. Tasks would include the day-to-day upkeep of the infrastructure, to include the design and implementation of network and security architectures along with recommendations for improvement.

Position Requirements:
  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the network topology and to optimize the end user operational experience.
  • Analyze and identify possible solutions to technical and operational challenges, with the ability to provide analysis and insight to team members in clear concise oral and written form.
  • Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering.
  • Integrates communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, and protocols into complete network and firewall configurations.
  • Document technical solutions along with strict adherence to Change control.
  • Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution.
  • Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards.
  • Implements approved methods of procedure.
  • Works on projects/systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration, and optimization.
  • Works on one or more projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project lead.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.


Position Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Intermediate data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP)
  • Experience working with Data Center infrastructure hardware
    • Racking/Stacking/Cabling
    • Labeling
    • Documentation
    • Power management
  • Intermediate knowledge of related industry specifications and standards, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols
  • Intermediate knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
  • Intermediate knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of network documentation and the creation of test plans.
  • Ability to perform duties in a very fast paced environment with the ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Experience in TCP/IP, BGP and MPLS technologies.
  • Proficiency in underlying LAN/WAN technologies and protocols.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to adapt to dynamic project environments, while able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong troubleshooting methodology and experience in an operational environment.
Preferred Functional Knowledge:
  • Experience configuring, deploying, managing and tuning the following:
    • Cisco Routers, Switches (Catalyst, Nexus),
    • Firewalls (ASA, FTD)
    • Cisco Firepower Management Console (FMC)/Services
    • ISE/Prime/DNA
  • Experience with SNMP/network monitoring tools - and NetFlow-based network monitoring and management
  • Knowledge of QOS and Access lists concepts
  • Understanding of security frameworks/protocols such as: Federation/SSO, IDS, IPS, Host Based Firewall, SSH, Key Management, PKI, Tokens, SAML, HTTPS/TLS, etc
  • Applicable communication protocols and hardware configurations (VLANs, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, STP, eRSTP, MSTP, EIGRP, OSPF, NAT, IPsec and QOS)
  • Knowledge of AWS networking
  • CCNA or CCNP Certification

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $75,000 - $100,000. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.

Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of working on the project. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to obtain the requisite security clearance. Must be able to pass a public trust background investigation.
