Infrastructure Engineer - Experienced

KEY JOB FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions)

• Infrastructure lifecycle of hardware and supported commercial off the shelf products.
• Maintain infrastructure, including upgrade, enhancements, patches and modifications.
• Diagnose and resolve system problems.
• Ensure system and network performance, reliability, and quality

In office position - can be based in Dallas, TX or Springfield, IL

Mid-level role; capable of operating autonomously on many infrastructure deployment and maintenance activities.

• Assist with build out of infrastructure by gathering information, performing analysis, and eliciting the details of user requirements in discussion with users.
• Complete design, documentation, process development, testing and debugging tasks working within a team.
• Support infrastructure and associated software by fixing problems tuning performance and making enhancements.
• Develop and implement infrastructure optimization projects and solutions including enhancements and upgrades.
• Able to plan and lead small to medium size projects including coordination with other necessary groups.
• Works with others, provides feedback and guidance to less experienced technologists.
• Knowledge of Disaster recovery technology, process and procedure necessary to support the company and related infrastructure in the event of a disaster. Capable of creating necessary documentation to support recovery efforts.
• Advanced knowledge of infrastructure lifecycle and project life cycle principles.
• Advanced infrastructure knowledge in applicable hardware, operating systems and/or advanced knowledge of configuring systems, appliances or software in support of critical infrastructure to support the business's mission.
• Advanced level knowledge in applicable scripting languages for the key focus area technologies supported.
• Storage management - NetApp, Nimble SAN
• Server Hardware - Server configuration, Disk array management, SAN volume configurations
• VMWare management and configurations - VCenter, Zerto disaster recovery, Cohesity virtual clustering
• System backup and disaster recovery - Cohesity, vRanger, Netbackup
• DFS File share management
• New Server O/S builds
• Server O/S upgrades, replacements and retirements
• Application migrations
• Web Application Support
• Change Review Board consultations
• F5 Load Balancer
• Cloud Environments - AWS and Azure
• Server Patching Management - BIGFIX
• Nagios system monitoring
• After-hours on-call support
   

Experience and Education Expectations:

• 4 year degree in applicable field (preferred)
• 4-6 years applicable work experience in applicable field.

Base level certification in a key focus area desired, (if applicable
