Infrastructure Engineer III

Summary

The Datacenter Infrastructure team is responsible for global compute and data protection infrastructure for the J.R. Simplot Company. Scope includes corporate datacenters in the U.S. and Australia, as well as factories, mines, and plants around the world. The team's pillars of expertise include hyperconverged infrastructure, physical servers, storage, hypervisors, data protection, ransomware, and disaster recovery.

The Systems Infrastructure Engineer III position is a senior-level technical role. Applicants should be subject matter experts in multiple supported technologies and have broad general technical experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement systems infrastructure solutions
• Serve as a technical resource for business and IT projects
• Participate in SME teams to develop global standards and manage backlogs
• Automate routine tasks, monitoring, and KPI reporting
• Work with global L1/L2 support teams, and mentor junior personnel
• Manage code upgrades, patches, and hardware maintenance
• Work with vendors for technical and sales support
• Participate in hardware LCM planning and maintenance renewals

Typical Education

• Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

• 5+ years related experience and/or training.
• HCI - Nutanix
• Hypervisors - VMware, AHV
• Servers - Dell, HPE, IBM
• Storage - Dell EMC Unity and Data Domain, NetApp
• Backup/Data Protection - Veritas NetBackup, Nutanix Leap, VMware Site Recovery Manager, NetApp Snap utilities and SVM-DR
• Operating systems - Windows, Linux/UNIX, IBMi
• Automation tools - Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Azure DevOps
• Ransomware - Dell Cyber Recovery Vault, Index Engines CyberSense, ProLion CryptoSpike
