Infrastructure Lead (Banking)

Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a dynamic Infrastructure Lead to spearhead our migration modernization and IT transformation efforts within the banking sector. The Infrastructure Lead will be responsible for overseeing both on-premises and cloud infrastructure strategies leading cross-functional teams and ensuring that all solutions are secure scalable and compliant with industry regulations.

Job Duties :

• Lead the delivery and execution of hybrid infrastructure migration strategies and modernization projects.
• Directly manage a team of architects and engineers ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Develop infrastructure policies and best practices in collaboration with security and compliance teams.
• Establish project timelines milestones and deliverables.
• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and report on project progress.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Ensure all infrastructure solutions are optimized for performance scalability and security.

Responsibilities :

• Data Center Migration and Consolidation :
  • Oversee the strategic planning and execution of data center migrations ensuring alignment with business goals and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Lead efforts to consolidate multiple data centers optimizing resource utilization and reducing operational costs while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
• Infrastructure and Platform Modernization :
  • Develop and implement comprehensive infrastructure modernization plans that leverage both on-premises and cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate with application teams to drive the transformation of monolithic applications into microservices architectures facilitating their deployment on modern platforms.
  • Evaluate and implement the latest platform technologies including Event-Driven Architectures Distributed Caching Solutions Container Orchestration Platforms
• Transformation Leadership :
  • Direct the implementation of innovative infrastructure solutions that enhance performance scalability and security for both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the infrastructure team encouraging innovative approaches to complex challenges.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting :
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the performance and efficiency of the infrastructure.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and provide regular reports to senior leadership identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication :
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to align infrastructure strategies with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Communicate project updates architectural designs and transformation strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members promoting best practices in infrastructure design and implementation.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity :
  • Lead the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical infrastructure components ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
  • Continuously assess and improve DR strategies to adapt to evolving business needs and technological advancements.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Significant experience in managing on-premises infrastructure including servers storage networking and virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP OCI) and experience in integrating cloud services with on-premises infrastructure.
• Proven experience in leading the modernization of legacy systems to a hybrid cloud architecture.
• Deep expertise in implementing infrastructure modernization strategies and utilizing the latest platform technologies including:
  • Event-Driven Architectures (e.g. Apache Kafka)
  • Distributed Caching Solutions (e.g. Redis Memcached)
  • Container Orchestration Platforms (e.g. Kubernetes OpenShift)
• Comprehensive understanding of banking regulations and compliance standards such as PCI DSS GDPR and PSD2.
• Lead the implementation of monitoring and observability solutions for both on-prem and cloud environments.
• Expertise in designing secure infrastructures and integrating robust security measures across environments.
• Proven experience in designing hybrid cloud networks using SD-WAN and VPNs.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing DR and HA strategies for mission-critical applications.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders and drive project success.
• Experience managing large-scale infrastructure transformations using Agile and DevOps methodologies.
