POSITION SUMMARY

The Infrastructure Middleware Manager oversees Middleware Infrastructure Operations to ensure that Genworth business needs are being met on premise, the Internet and Intranet. This individual will assist the Director of Infrastructure and Genworth Infrastructure Tower Leads to manage the relationship and technical performance of an external service provider. The position will also serve as the primary Genworth technical liaison with Genworth's database and application development teams across business segments overseeing the external service provider's work.

Provide coaching and training to the application and database teams on how to work with the external service provider to build new applications, databases, and products to operate in the environment as well as new projects. Serve as an escalation point for project issues. Solve or escalate issues to the other Genworth Tower leads and Director. Assist with design reviews, inventory of DB and applications, and produce monthly dashboards through the external service provider.

RESPONSIBILITIES• Manage the relationship and technical performance of Genworth's external service provider (ESP) regarding the current technology stack - JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere, SDLC, Apache, Tomcat, CA SiteMinder, Ping Federate, Ping Access, automation, F5, .NET/IIS, MQSeries, Liferay, Infinispan, AWS, Oracle, and SQL, etc. to ensure performance, capacity management, and rapid delivery to achieve operational excellence is being met.• Provide operational support for a multi-vendor, multi-region middleware production environment.• Oversee ESP to manage projects updating technology stacks and working with the application teams for seamless integration with new versions of supported technologies.• Drive continuous improvement with our ESP by assisting with ticketing processes, controls, and procedures to efficiently service Genworth business needs.• Improve documentation and reporting capabilities in support of operations and compliance demands.• Identify, test, and integrate new and replacement middleware products and capabilities and work with ESP to do the same.• Understand compliance requirements and oversee ESP in performing periodic audits of the middleware tools to ensure that policies are appropriately enforced.• Assist with audits such as ITAM, SOX, RISK, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS• Operations and support experience with demanding customers and strict deadlines.• In depth knowledge of at least one of the leading J2EE servers - JBoss, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, etc.• In depth knowledge of web server administration, preferably Apache.• Experience with performance testing and monitoring software.• In depth knowledge with automation/configuration management technologies such as Ansible, Chef and SDLC technologies (Jenkins, Maven, Ant, Sonar, Subversion, git, etc.).• Experience with and knowledge of other middleware technologies and SOA architectures involving messaging (JMS), ESB, web services, etc.• General understanding of ITIL management practices and system development lifecycle.• Familiarity with workflow automation platforms such as ServiceNow. • Strong analytic problem solving and troubleshooting skills.• Excellent communications skills.• Team oriented.• Self-motivated, self-learning.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS• 6+ years with J2EE servers in an administration or development role. • In depth knowledge of IAM technologies such as LDAP server administration and best practices, preferably Red Hat Directory Server, SSO, PING (CA SiteMinder, etc.), SAML/3rd party federation, etc.• Familiarity with Java language and internals such as memory management.• In depth knowledge of UNIX / Linux, Networking, Security technologies as they apply to applications.• Knowledge in encryption technology, algorithms, and ciphers as well as PKI, SSL, GPG/PGP.• Unix shell scripting • Perl or other advanced scripting language.• Development skills in Java, Python, PHP, etc.• Experience with load balancer administration (F5, BIG-IP, LTM / GTM, Citrix NetScaler) CISCO CSS, etc.).• Leadership experience and project management skills (PMP).• BS/MS Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.• Experience in cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure.
