Inkjet Engineering Specialist

EFI is looking for an Inkjet Specialist to join us at our Ypsilanti, Michigan Location. This position will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team that supports R&D for product development of ink and industrial printing presses. The team is responsible for the design and building of various test fixtures and utilizing them to support ink development. What you will do:

• Work in a hands-on laboratory environment, work on electromechanical systems including laboratory ink systems, printhead electronics, and other equipment for lab testing.

• Building new lab systems based on advanced printheads.

• Develop in house equipment and test methods as needed, to fully characterize and validate industrial inkjet inks in a lab environment.

• Analyze data collected and report on key findings.

• Work in a fast-paced R&D environment to support inkjet ink development.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelors Degree in a technical field (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or physics) or Associates with relevant experience
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience working in a lab environment.
• Able to summarize and present technical data clearly.
• Able to implement a rigorous scientific approach in a realistic fashion to achieve commercial goals in a lean environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Some capability in mechanical design and circuit design is desirable.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment and work well under pressure.
• Proven ability to work well within a group.
• Versatile and quick learner (new products and technologies)
• Curious to learn (and enjoy learning).
• Detail oriented and well organized.
