The Innovation Danaher Business System (DBS) Leader for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for leading development and execution of a Process Improvement / DBS Roadmap for Microbiology Diagnostics R&D, i.e., how to use DBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results such as Time To Market (TTM) and On Time Delivery (OTD) for New Product Development, and Incremental Pipeline Value (IPV).

This position is part of the Research & Development group located in Sacramento, CA, and will be hybrid. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Research & Development team and report to the Head of Research & Development responsible for leading development and execution of a Process Improvement / DBS Roadmap for Microbiology Diagnostics R&D. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead development and execution of a Process Improvement / DBS Roadmap for Microbiology Diagnostics R&D
• Promote and facilitate associate development in various DBS tools and kaizen leadership, such as Voice of Customer (VOC) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
• Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation) that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging DBS Innovation Playbook, Holistic View of Innovation (HVI), other DBS tools, consulting skills, and the change management process
• Promote and facilitate diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate DBS tools to eliminate them
• Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science required with 14+ yrs of experience, or Masters with 12+ yrs, or Doctoral with 7+ yrs
• 5+ years DBS practitioner or Six Sigma Design Excellence experience in New Product Development; and 7+ years of New Product Development Experience in a medical device or diagnostics company
• Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a "general manager's" point of view
• Proven experience in creating & executing significant process improvement and change management strategy
• Strong group facilitation skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Proficient in a DBS environment, including Kaizen (continuous improvement), design and facilitation of Policy Deployment usage, Voice of Customer (VOC), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Problem-Solving Process (PSP)

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $126,900-$200,000 annually. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
