We are now seeking a seasoned executive to lead business vision and strategy and go-to-market planning for a new venture we are incubating with a US Midwest-based client, an innovative healthcare system with an internationally-recognized environmental program.
As a key member of the incubation team, the Business / GTM Leader will leverage their deep knowledge implementing renewable energy solutions, building energy use and operations, and sustainability – with a particular focus in the healthcare industry – together with a deep understanding of customer pain obtained through end-user interviews to develop and execute marketing, strategic sales, and customer implementation / success plans to acquire, maintain, and grow the initiative. The lead will also engage with customers early in the process to incorporate learnings from the interactions and to build an early pipeline. Â
The Role
This is a two-month contract position with potential for extension, and an opportunity to convert to a full-time founder in a startup being launched by our client.
- Working with the collective incubation team, understand and translate customer needs into an executable go-to-market strategy that can be incorporated into the business plan.
- Develop revenue plans to meet the customer goals for the team. Define, establish and track metrics, analyze the results of the strategies, and iterate and optimize the sales and delivery funnel.
- Define and implement a repeatable, scalable model that facilitates rapid feedback and learning for the organization as well as the effective, transparent, and predictable use of limited, high-value resources.
- Create sales tools and training programs for sales and identified marketing channel partners. These efforts include developing core messages, positioning, and pricing for execution of product launches and sales promotions.
- Determine knowledge, skills, and resources of the marketing and / or sales teams required to sell the initiative’s product line and achieve their annual accountabilities.
- Participate in the initiative’s strategic planning and concept design efforts. This effort calls for leveraging insights garnered from client interactions and market research to help the team.
- Develop new marketing tactics and service ideas, and extensions.
- Complete required administrative tasks including account plans, forecasts, and weekly status reports on time and accurately.
Experience
- 5+ years of professional sales experience relevant to sustainability, renewable energy use, and / or green building operations and maintenance
- 2+ years of consulting experience setting the strategy for sales, go to market, or product launch
- 2+ years in a senior sales management role
- Previous experience building early stage go-to-market strategies and teams, and successfully achieving repeatable and predictable results
- Proven track record of closing deal sizes relevant to the incubation businessÂ
- Successful management of multiple partner / channel organizations
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of organizations
- Strong strategic planning skills
- Leadership capabilities in leading and collaborating with teams
- Proven ability to develop stage-gate sales processes and account plans
- Proven track record in producing sales tools and collateral
Desired
- Experience developing or launching sustainability solutions in the healthcare industry
- Start-up company or venture capital experience
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Business Administration and Management, Healthcare Management, Operations, Project Management, Innovation, or Engineering                   Â
- LEED AP O+M or LEED Green Associate credential
- Lean Six Sigma certification
OSHA Category
- Category 3 - Employees in this job title have no reasonably anticipated risk of occupational exposure to blood and/or other potentially infectious materials.
Environmental Conditions
- Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office work) Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions
Physical Requirements / Demands of The Position
- Sitting Approximately 8 hours in a day
- Static Standing Approximately 30 minutes to 1.5 hours total in a day Walking/Standing Approximately 3 hours total in a day
Ability to work full time on US Central Time.
