Position Summary
The role of Sr. Project Manager will be directly responsible for leading and managing strategic initiatives that support the Evernorth Health Services Labs Innovation and New Solutions team. This position will work collaboratively throughout the Cigna Enterprise, and with third-party vendors, to manage multiple projects to completion to ensure business objectives are met.
The Health Services Labs fuel future growth across the enterprise by focusing our diverse talent and entrepreneurial spirit to work collaboratively, with speed and purpose, to create a never-ending stream of needed insights and market-disrupting solutions. Our solutions include data, analytics, service platforms and other meaningfully-differentiated capabilities.
This position is physically located in the state-of-the art St. Louis Health Services Lab where we're working every day to solve healthcare's biggest challenges. Whether we're developing a comprehensive solution to tackle opioid dependency or discovering a way to remotely monitor patients living with diabetes, the Lab is key to our success.

Job Scope
- Provide project management for strategic and tactical projects. This may include pilots and project development that will lead to innovative new findings and/or products with the organization.
- Depending on the specific project or pilot, the Sr. Project Manager will define/refine project scope, develop project plans, manage project milestones; develop and execute appropriate communication plans with stakeholders and leadership; develop relationships with cross-functional partners; align project timelines to ensure projects are completed meeting all stakeholder needs.
- Create strong relationships, and manage projects and project plans with third-party vendors that we partner with to develop innovative solutions.
- Provide weekly/monthly progress reports to management as needed.
- Provide education, training and presentations on project updates, new processes and tools for users. Create and maintain user documentation and policy and procedures when deemed appropriate.
- This role is more than just traditional project management, as the Sr. Project Manager will work closely with the strategic design team on overall design of solutions to ensure they are operationally effective, and will hold a key role in making business decisions related to the projects.
Essential Functions
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional partners throughout the Enterprise to manage projects to meet the needs of the business and overall Enterprise objectives.
- Provides project management for strategic and tactical projects. Responsible for successful implementation of key strategic projects as well as driving activities and actions to achieve aligned goals.
- Analyze complex situations, distillation of issues into options, and drive to the appropriate conclusions.
- Handling a high-pressure environment with multiple competing priorities.
Qualifications
- 8-12 years relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive project management skills using various programs to prepare and execute business plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity.
- Work independently with minimal guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage work load and meet project deadlines.
- Experience partnering with other business leads and subject matter experts, at all levels, to define, scope, analyze, resolve strategic issues and drive results required.
- Experience managing business and IT relationships in a matrixed environment preferred.
- Leads by example with high energy, transparency, relationship management, and influencing skills.
