The department includes an advisory team and three product development teams. This role will interact with the advisory team and a product development team. Working with both types of teams will enable the candidate to grow their knowledge of frontend and backend product development.

Given the pace of the environment the specifics will be defined closer to the start of the internship and built to support the development goals of the candidate. Applicants can expect the work to take up 25% of their time and progress throughout the program. The assignment will be a business case in some form.

The internship program includes a group project with 5-10 other interns who support Nationwide's Enterprise Innovation and Digital Organization (EIDO). The group project will support an in-flight initiative with the goal of launching a new product feature by the end of the program. During this assignment the candidate will have an opportunity to engage with many other business units within Nationwide such as finance, marketing, technology, legal, and compliance. Expect this assignment to make up 60% of the internship program.

The candidate will utilize the rest of their time meeting with leaders throughout organization, networking with other interns, and learning about Nationwide.

Internship Roles/Responsibilities:

The candidate will meet regularly with Nationwide associates and interns where they'll be expected to collaborate, share their opinion, and present to leadership. Outside of meetings they'll need to manage their schedule to meet deliverables for the individual and group project. Nationwide utilizes Microsoft's suite of application (i.e., Office, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel) and prior familiarity is encouraged.
