Your Opportunity
The Innovation Office is currently seeking an Innovative Business Opportunity (IBO) Manager to join our team. The role of an IBO Manager will be to manage an IBO portfolio and be an active member of the Innovation Office management team.

Minimum of 10 years of design, engineering, planning, leadership, and business development experience.

Your Opportunity
The Innovation Office is currently seeking an Innovative Business Opportunity (IBO) Manager to join our team. The role of an IBO Manager will be to manage an IBO portfolio and be an active member of the Innovation Office management team.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Identification of IBO candidates
- Work with the Creativity and Ideation Director to identify funded projects that are, individually or as a bundle, good candidates for an IBO
- Take a lead role in the evaluation of IBO candidates and the C-Suite application for the creation of an IBO
- Take a lead role in preparing an IBO candidate team for Blue Ocean Strategy sessions and assist in moderating the sessions
- Oversee the operation of a portfolio of IBO's
- Provide direction and assist in hiring/assigning the leadership team for the IBO's in your portfolio
- Assist the IBO leadership team in the preparation and annual update of IBO Business Plans
- Help lead the creation and support the IBO leadership in achieving the IBO KPI's
- Ensure the creation and update of 4-blocker diagrams for each IBO
- Actively participate on IBO operation and M&BD as required including supporting strong internal channel partnerships
- Supervise the creation and maintenance of IBO Pipeline tracking
- Review monthly financials, identify issues and concerns and assist the IBO leadership team in resolving any financial issues to remain on budget.
- Review and approve IBO hiring and offer requests
- Lead regular IBO leadership meetings
- Assist in the creation of IBO Steering Committees and chair Steer Co. meetings
- Provide IBO updates at bi-weekly Innovation Office meetings as requested
- Prepare quarterly IBO update summaries for inclusion in board reports
- Communicate and coordinate BOU support/integration with the respective IL(s) and BOUL(s)
- With the assistance of the IBO Director, lead the IBO graduation process
- Innovation Office leadership
- Participate in leadership discussions regarding the vision for/direction of the Innovation Office
- Lead activities/presentations/workshops for Stantec BOU leaders to promote innovation internally
- Assist the IBO Director with external innovation content including, but not limited to articles, press releases, videos and social media content.
- Assist in the selection of Innovation Summit presentations and provide coaching to presenters as required
- Support the assessment and selection of Idea Machine submissions for funding as requested
- Be a pragmatic blue ocean thinker that helps to future proof Stantec from market changes and disruptions.
- Must demonstrate understanding of what creates a sustainable competitive advantage.
- Provide thought leadership to the Office that balances futurism with reasonable return on investment advice.
- Stay current on state-of-the-science technology development associated with Stantec services and offering. Enlist in Stantec's e-library with a focused peer-reviewed literature feed.
- Be an innovation ambassador within Stantec, increase the visibility of our innovations and creativity in the internal Stantec and external design community for the purposes of staff recruitment and retention.
