Inpatient or Outpatient Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview:
Baystate Health is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan, including assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
• Provide therapy and counseling to individuals, families, and groups.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers, to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health.
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts.
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a PMHNP preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to providing culturally competent care.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with diverse populations in a community mental health setting.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
