Job Description
Role
- Develop strong customer relationships at assigned accounts, implementing sales and marketing plans that support the company’s vision for growth and profitability.
- Develop relationships with existing customers in multiple specialty segments.
- New Business Development a priority, utilizing Pixelle’s diversified product portfolio.
- Communicate vertically at operational and management levels.
- Maintain working knowledge of Pixelle products, end-use markets, and competitors.
- Communicate territory info, customer satisfaction, competitive activity to Sales Management.
- Coordinate complaint follow-up, pricing strategies, opportunity assessment and inquiries.
Accountabilities
- Achieve budgeted sales volumes, including new business development, and aspire to achieve total customer satisfaction for assigned accounts.
- Prepare and execute monthly and annual planning for the sales territory.
- Create monthly and annual demand forecasts in conjunction with overall S&OP process.
- Drive account product mix to maximize margin, highest selling prices, and strategic fit for our mills.
- Manage customer expectations according to approved plans.
- Ensure alignment between order acceptance and approved plan.
- Develop contingencies for gaps in volume/revenue/margin.
- Proactively communicate with management on critical strategic issues.
- Enhance product mix/profitability.
- Ensure proper coverage and resource utilization with accounts.
- Manage territory as a business owner.
- Develop subject matter expertise in Engineered Specialties segments and markets.
- Coordinate efforts and work in conjunction with New Product Development, Innovation, Logistics, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Service.
- Gather competitive information, and report info to peer group and management.
- Commit to using Pixelle’s sales excellence process including Hubspot CRM and Sales Pre-Call and post call reports.
- Monitor and recommend changes to product lines and service offerings.
- Coordinate management visits, as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.
- One to three (1-3) years of manufacturing sales experience.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to lead professional discussions, present information, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Willing to travel as required (expected to be less than 20%).
- Computer competency- Excel, PowerPoint, general enterprise computer skills. Proficient in producing documents needed to drive customer and internal discussion.
- Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator license.
