Responsibilities

Inside Sales Representative Responsibilities

Hamilton Company is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to support the growth strategy of the Laboratory Products division. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for selling lab products which include but not limited to HPLC columns, Small Instruments, Syringes, and Valves. This position sells approximately 1,500 products to researchers in the academic and Pharma/Biotech market. The Inside Sales Rep works with the direction of the Sales Director to maintain and grow the business across various accounts.

The Inside Sales Representative is a sales position designed to learn on the job with guidance from the Sales Director. The ideal candidate has a degree in one of the Life Sciences and is results-oriented, passionate about what they do, works with a sense of urgency, stays focused, and works well on a team. The ideal Inside Sales Representative will live in Reno, Nevada and support the East Coast territory.

Specific Areas of Responsibility Include (but are not limited to)

  • Customer relations management.
  • Sales prospecting and strategizing.
  • Sales execution and support to ensure achievement of sales targets.
  • Technical competence and administration - including use of CRM.
  • Continuous improvement efforts, including input on marketing plans and objectives, etc.
  • Routine reporting/updates.
  • Efficiently manage territory through business planning and interaction with end users.
  • Maintain effective and professional communication in the field and with internal contacts in the company.
  • Manage the overall business relationship within territory to include - but not limited to - account POAs (Plan of Action), business reviews, trainings, and procurement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Technical competency demonstrated in product knowledge, product application, and product positioning for research and development.
  • Independent worker who can take direction.

Education/Experience

  • B.S. degree or equivalent in a related discipline required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SalesForce, or CRM required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a Life Science laboratory at an academic/pharma account preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of technical sales experience preferred.
  • Experience with short sales cycle selling processes preferred.

Additional Information

  • Anticipated salary range depending on experience is $55,000 - $95,000/year plus commission.
