Job Description

Euromonitor International's Insights Manager - Pets and Home Products role offers a unique opportunity to build a personal brand in our highly successful sectors of Pet Care, Home Care and Home and Garden. The successful candidate will drive our continued commercial development by engaging with the major companies on our thought leadership position within the sector.

The successful candidate will begin by building off Euromonitor's existing thought leadership narrative in the space and then build ownership of their own insights portfolio, based on identified focus/expertise and client interactions. He/she will manage a set number of accounts aligned with identified focus/expertise. A strong portfolio of thought leadership is critical to successful commercial interactions, where the successful candidate is expected to take ownership and evolution of their content and research-driven account activity.

An individual contributor, proficient in thought leadership, client engagement and the ability to promote their content to external audiences will fit well with this role.

Purpose of the Role

The Insights Manager - Pets and Home Products is a new role within Euromonitor's Passport Research team, reporting to the Head of Industry Research and working especially closely with other roles that specialise in content and engagement, namely Global Leads and Industry Managers. The role meets the growing demand for client service from Passport industry and sector experts. The Insights Manager is a client facing research role, where more than half of time is spent engaged in or preparing for client facing activity.

Key responsibilities:

The Insights Manager is tasked with developing expert content in written form and for presenting and delivering that content through client engaged services. Responsibilities can be described as 50% content and 50% client as follows:

Content
  • Create market insights from global data for own content and in the work of others, employing the knowledge of the research network, Passport data, and Analytics. Create content by not just collating information but rather using Passport data and information as the basis of opinionated, forward-looking, compelling insight meant to build value for client in their Passport subscriptions and services.
  • Deliver high quality, expert strategic content, with both global scope and regional expertise, actionable for an engaged client base both local to a region and global.
  • Build content demonstrating subject and geographic expertise, purposefully targeted to commercial and editorial needs and to the maximum research/commercial returns.
  • Support and drive global Strategic Themes and content initiatives.
  • To do the same for the work of others through leading, co-authoring, and editing.
  • Minimum content metrics, three strategic pieces plus at least one piece of templatised content per year.

Research
  • Deliver high quality global and regional research on Pets and Home Products in the form of strategic content and briefings and in global and regional support of targeted Passport industry systems.
  • Demonstrate abilities in working with industry published statistics and Euromonitor's analytical tools (where available) to enhance research inputs from the Passport research organisation.
  • Proactively build the knowledge base through access of internal research, external publications and through interactions with client facing teams and clients/industry bodies.
  • Build client research partnerships to the benefit of the wider research organization. Seek the development of virtuous circle relationships through all industry interactions.
  • Promote and maintain a research agenda around all activities/engagements and build knowledge as part of a continuous wheel of dialogue with the industry.
  • Collaborate with Global Leads, Industry Managers, Project Managers, and the research network to strengthen research results using all inputs including client information.

Commercial
  • Identify/target focus client accounts based on commercial need, evolving with business needs and priorities.
  • Operate from a client first mentality and use expertise to fulfil client needs. A research mindful approach to client satisfaction.
  • Bring industry and geographic expertise to help attract, win and retain business.
  • Build and establish internal profile by coordinating with global sales and account management teams on client needs and priorities, take collective view on new business and renewals.
  • Build and establish public reputation through client work and through content on e.com to gain traction with industry and trade press to drive potential clients toward Euromonitor.
  • Work with Comms to build expert industry profile, develop strong relationships with key trade press, conference organisers and associations. Produce content for business and trade press. Deliver presentations at key industry events.

Consulting support
  • Assist in fulfilling client needs through the entire custom research lifecycle, from discovery through to delivery.
  • Maintain awareness of and involvement in Consulting opportunities, develop learnings from opportunities based on client and key areas of interest.
  • Lend expertise to client and Consulting Business Development in the process, help shape, sharpen, and guide the proposal process to successfully win business.
  • Stay aware and involved as subject expert with Consulting Research, offer feedback, ensure a high quality bespoke product that satisfies or exceeds client expectations.
  • Assist in building scalable, high margin custom solutions.
  • Where appropriate, may actively deliver or assist in delivery of bespoke projects in an expert capacity.


Requirements

  • High level of numeracy and analytical capabilities.
  • Solid experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Ability to identify and build evidence-based thought leadership that adds value to information solutions and meets the strategic needs of clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills - this is a writing-intensive position with strategic analysis as core of content.
  • Solid commercial acumen, presentation, and client management skills.
  • Capacity to be a team player and work with diverse internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and trust within and between functions, across the full syndicated research team, consulting research and sales.
  • Tenacity and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills and organisational ability. Flexibility and a proactive approach to managing workloads and balancing research, analysis, and client interaction.
  • Experience of Pets and Home Products research and/or commercial space as an advantage.
  • Proficiency and ability to present in languages other than English as an advantage.
