Gusto Embedded segment is the newest standalone business unit at Gusto, and our first product is Gusto Embedded Payroll. Our vision is to enable any third party developer to build the best payroll product for their end customers. Â

As the Insights and Operations Leader for Gusto Embedded, you will:
- Provide strategic and operational support to the Leader, Yi Liu.
- Develop and execute on the Leader's agenda and coordinate with her leadership team.
- Work with the organization's leaders to identify and solve the organization's most challenging problems
- Working with the leadership team, ensure Enterprise Deals go well from pre-sales to contract negotiation to implementation.
- Drive the organization's processes for strategic planning, decision-making, budgeting, operations, and metrics/OKRs (eg. BizOps).
- Ensure efficient operations and resolve conflicts or unblock teams.
- On an as-needed basis, this role may take-on special projects and/or incubating new roles.
- Develop and communicate the Leader's strategy, business, and people (team & culture) agenda.
You’ll help build this high-growth business unit within Gusto, working across functions, including Product, Engineering, Design, Finance, Data Science, Revenue, and Customer Experience Teams to better understand friction points in our business, solve them, and build for scale. You’ll help us move fast and ensure quality of execution by tracking and aligning Gusto Embedded leadership with broader cross-functional teams. You will be empowered by Gusto’s Chief of Staff to the CEO, joining a world-class Insights and Operations team balancing strategy, operations, and special projects to create a world where work empowers a better life.Â

We are looking for a Data-Driven Business Strategist with:
- 5-7 years of experience in analytical, operating roles at early-stage/growing startups, product or biz ops roles, product management, and/or consulting with business problem-solving training.
- Experience with Enterprise Technology products - API-first companies and/or products is a plus.
- Strong business acumen and/or first-hand experience building products that delight.
- Experience in systems thinking and process improvement.
- Stellar program management: you may be called on to develop, and manage programs for company-wide initiatives, such as customer and revenue growth acceleration.
- A passion for people empowerment and team morale.
- Deep empathy and obsession for small business customers.
- Grit, hustle, and the ability to flex into problems at all altitudes.
- The ability to keep all the trains on the tracks and the clear communication flowing.
- A deep passion for helping others.
Our cash compensation range for this role is $152,000 to $188,000/yr in Denver, and $173,000 - $215,000/yr in San Francisco & New York. Remote locations will vary based on our geographical pay approach. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
