About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to develop new investment management and advisory business for Commerce Trust Company by partnering with appropriate business line leaders and staff at Commerce Bank and through outside contacts and sources.

Essential Functions

  • Market proprietary fixed income and equity strategies, including investment advisory services, custody and other institutional trust capabilities to reach stated annual new business fee goals
  • Work with team members to develop referral opportunities through Bank personnel and an outside network of consultants, other financial advisors, and through his/her own network of resources to maximize the sales in an assigned territory or sales coverage area
  • Follow up on leads generated through various marketing programs and initiate ideas for marketing efforts that result in the identification of prospects for investment management services
  • Ensure that services provided by Commerce Trust Company (CTC) are delivered in a consistent and timely manner by client service team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Intermediate knowledge of client management software
  • Intermediate knowledge of the investment field
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 2+ years business development experience required
  • Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred
