Instructional Designer

About The Role:

Notion is looking for an Instructional Designer to support our Enterprise and Billing Customer Experience teams. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating engaging and effective training materials that make complex technical subjects easy to learn and digest.

As a caretaker of the user experience, you will be a key player in ensuring that Notion’s support interactions are designed to benefit each and every user. In this role, success means creating tailored training content that prepares and excites these expert teams.

What You'll Achieve:

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain learning solutions for specialized support teams (billing, enterprise).
• Apply adult learning and instructional design principles to ensure a high level of specialized skill development.
• Facilitate Notion’s Customer Experience onboarding curriculum and lead train-the-trainer sessions with training partners.
• Tailor learning experiences to drive motivation and retention in internal audiences.
• Support product launches and updates by creating digestible, clear learning material for your audience.
• Create technical learning content including projects, exercises, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies.
• Identify and track metrics that incorporate feedback from qualitative and quantitative sources to improve learning experiences.

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

• 3+ years of proven experience building effective enablement programs to support complex subject matters for SaaS audiences.
• Experience using eLearning authoring tools (Articulate 360 preferred), instructor-led development tools (PowerPoint, Google Suite), and a Learning Management System (Docebo, Cornerstone, WorkRamp, or similar).
• Ability to absorb complex information efficiently and quickly, and explain complex ideas with simplicity.
• Deep understanding of adult learning best practices, instructional design, and eLearning development techniques.
• Experience scheduling and facilitating live and virtual training programs.
• Ability to use data to influence a training approach, including to make content decisions, evaluate success, and implement feedback for continuous improvement.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience creating media assets with video editing, voice recording, or graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite).
• Experience training payment processing tools like Stripe.
• Experience training BI, logging, and reporting tools like Splunk, Hex, Snowflake, etc.
• Adult learning or eLearning development certifications.

Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $120,000-$160,000 per year.
