Job Summary: Integrated Media Planner (Remote)
The Integrated Media Planner must have a love for strategic thinking blended with an ability to roll up their sleeves and see things through to execution and optimization. They will be an energetic and collaborative team member ready to plan and maintain high performance accounts.
Ideally, the right candidate will have strong interest and experience in pharmaceutical and healthcare paid media planning and how to reach various audiences (USA & Globally) – from patients to healthcare professionals and everyday practitioners to thought leaders. An idea partner, they know that collaboration is key, and works lockstep with fellow disciplines to deliver high quality work to set the tone for what performance excellence looks like.
For this role, you will be a key member of an integrated cross-functional team working to bring marketing and communications campaigns to life through all types of paid media from print and broadcast to digital advertising and emerging mediums.
As an important member of the paid media team, you must be able to work under the direction of more senior Directors to collaboratively drive client strategic thinking, accomplish key tasks, and learn and actively seek feedback to continually upgrade your media planning skills. You will ensure that proposed media tactics directly achieve client strategic imperatives. You must also be an effective communicator and presenter working with a world-class team of cross-functional media planners and optimizers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute media planning tasks such as gathering audience research, maintaining budget trackers, building and maintaining media schedule flowcharts, researching media partners, writing vendor RFPs, creating necessary documentation, filling out trafficking workbooks, and building media recommendation slides for inclusion in media plan decks
- Assist senior staff with developing and documenting team processes and best practices
- Contribute to the media planning, negotiation, and deployment, and optimization process for assigned clients from beginning to end. Assist with the development of monthly performance reports.
- Identify and procure or conduct research on media consumption and trends for target audiences
- Develop media strategies that directly address client objectives
- Maintain media schedules, budget reconciliation, develop and send RFPs to identified media partners
- Critically evaluate and compare RFP responses and negotiate added value while building and maintaining high trust and respect relationships with external media partners
- Learn how to drive “Intermedia”, connecting the dots between how each media channel and tactic affects the rest of the tactics in the plan
- Work with internal account and subject matter expert teams to collaboratively develop strategic brand plans with integrated media included
- Develop and nurture relationships with key media partners and stay on top of emerging trends, technologies, and paid media opportunities
- Educate internal teams on the media planning process, deliverables, timelines, and help upskill broad agency paid media proficiency
- Plan across all paid media channels from digital channels like display, native, search, and social, to traditional channels like print and OOH, as well as video and audio advertising
- Show a collaborative, flexible, and solution oriented working style and be prepared to roll up your sleeves when a hands-on approach is needed

What we are looking for:
- Minimum 2 years cross channel media planning experience within the agency environment
- Basic understanding of traditional and offline channel planning
- Experience with Patient & Healthcare Professional pharmaceutical advertising
- Understanding of campaign management, ad serving, and viewability/fraud prevention technology
- Ability to use third-party media research and competitive monitoring tools
- Strong knowledge of digital media planning and metrics (KPIs)
- Basic knowledge of Google Analytics
- Excellent presentation skills
- Able to travel to meet client and agency needs
- Ability to work autonomously when needed and capable. Ability to follow direction with attention to detail
- Strong attention to detail
- Growth mindset, with strong desire to learn and internally motivated
- Strong expectation management skills to ensure team members always know what to expect and when they can expect it
The anticipated salary range for this position will be $75K – $90K. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Spectrum reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
