Department Summary:

L212 contains MITRE Enterprise Program and Risk Management thought leaders. The department is composed of recognized subject matter experts, who are proficient in a suite of program and risk management skills including: leading people, project communications, scope management employing Agile, establishing program metrics, developing schedules, and more. The Enterprise Program & Risk Management department provides support across a wide range of MITRE portfolios, employing ~ 90 highly qualified and experienced staff.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement department and division strategies.
  • Leads efficient and effective execution of operations functions within L212. Tracks program, execution for all specific operations and integration activities to include workforce and capacity planning, program delivery, and capability development.
  • Manages processes to track workforce delivery, hiring, staff capacity, rates, funding, and resource management.
  • Manages and tracks business operations, budget development and execution.
  • Provide mentoring to department staff.
  • Manage the department's talent acquisition, training, and recognition programs
  • Manage and track department budget development and execution
  • Manage department training needs and training budget
  • Provide recommendations to department manager pertaining to department operations
  • Serve as direct supervisor for multiple department group leaders
  • Provide quality reviews of materials developed by department staff
  • Lead complex, cross-organizational teams to support Center and Division priorities
  • Represent the department at division and MITRE events
  • Manage department meetings and events
  • Ensure department's compliance with MITRE policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in either a technical or business area with 10 years of experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with MS Office products and MS Project
  • 8 years' experience leading Information Technology or federal government projects
  • Knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) or similar project management methodology
  • Experience in leading an organizational Project/Program Management Office (PMO)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years' experience with 10 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience as a Group Leader or similar role
  • MS degree in technical or business field
