The IS Account Engineer has a select number of strategic Intelligent Services accounts and is responsible for IS engineering and partnering with account managers to drive targeted pull-through from these strategic clients. As much or more of this person's time will be spent on billable engineering working that is above and beyond normal consultation deliverables. This includes project development, retro-commissioning, design assistance, walkthroughs, and assisting sales teams with securing a larger share of assigned clients' business, earning them as customers for life.

The account engineer delivers IS consultations to assigned clients and promotes solutions that lead to improved facilities with reduced operational spend. The primary responsibilities of this role are to become the client's most trusted advisor, and maximize pull through business for Trane, while maintaining desirable contract margins. Success in this role is measured by assigned accounts' energy reductions and the amount of pull-through business generated.

Key Result: Intelligent Services Consultation Development and Delivery

Key Actions:

Facilitate the development and delivery of Intelligent Services consultation reports (with support of Analyst/Coaching Services) in a timely and professional manner

Researches (with support of Analyst/Coaching Services) facilities energy usage and provides interpretation of utility bills to clients

Monitors and analyzes energy consumption and costs (with support of Analyst/Coaching Services); develops recommendations for facility improvements, energy consumption, and conservation including performance against standards and benchmarks

Manages Intelligent Services contract hours with the goal of maintaining and improving contract margins

Key Result: Engineering / Project Development

Key Actions:

Leads the technical analysis of facilities and their usage to determine creative solutions and savings opportunities

Identifies, develops, estimates, and proposes Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)

Ensure the efficient utilization of pre-purchased ECM Flex Hours working with the ECM COE

Leads concept development associated with various engineering projects

Conducts field survey work as needed to assess new opportunities and develop various projects

Coordinate technical solutions with external partners as needed

Leads a design team in project development, acquisition, and fulfillment of small to medium sized energy-based projects

Assists with initial opportunity assessments for PACT projects where needed

Fosters relationships with appropriate subcontractors; writing RFQs, evaluating bids, and managing subcontracting partners through the project development process

Key Result: Sales Support

Key Actions:

Maintains position as the customer's most trusted advisor

Actively participates in strategic account planning and leader to leader meetings

Presents compelling technical business case presentations for comprehensive projects as required

Leads sales process when appropriate

Generates numerous leads for assigned accounts, especially Energy Services and Controls

Helps the sales team to quality and quickly close or abandon opportunities

Fully understands Trane's innovation and energy solutions and is able to present products and solutions depending on customer business

Helps to create written scopes of work and formal proposals for client as well as risk mitigation summaries for Trane Service and Contracting leadership

Support sales team in the acquisition of new Intelligent Services clients

Participate in high level walkthroughs and facility assessments

Provide qualification support on new IS accounts as required

Develop building analytic reports and site action plan.

Collaborate with Digital Services Team to develop account strategy.

Execute Tracer Pro "consultations" as required

Qualifications / Requirements:

7-9 years experience, preferred

Design and application knowledge of facility HVAC, control, lighting, and electrical systems

Four year electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Design degree, or equivalent field experience

Certified Energy Manager, preferred

Experience with building automation and control systems preferred

Must have strong communication skills and ability to work with internal and external teams

Must have strong business acumen skills and able to provide financial analysis to customer

Must have a good understanding of technical proficiencies required to deliver solutions

Must have the aptitude to learn new industry related material/practices for continued growth

Working Conditions:

This position works in a typical office environment.

Several job site / customer meetings per week are typical.

Assigned sales area will be in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina

Position will require automobile travel based on assigned customers.

Occasionally requires working outdoors and in mechanical / equipment rooms.

Other Job Requirements:

Valid driver's license

Provide proof of personnel auto insurance

Must have reliable personnel vehicle

Flexibility to work overtime / weekends as required

Base Pay Range: $58,500-141,500

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our location. Flexible work from home options available.

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
