Interconnection Engineer

Job Description

(1) Manage Interconnection activities and track requirements for Interconnection studies and applications;

(2) Communicate and coordinate with Independent System Operators/Regional Transmission Organizations (ISO/TRO), transmission providers and Utilities to ensure the project interconnection is cost effective;

(3) Develop and manage the Interconnection schedules and ensure all the milestones are achieved;

(4) Support negotiations for technical studies and Interconnection Agreements;

(5) Oversee Consultant’s work for Interconnection applications, modeling and studies;

(6) Support the Project Engineers team and Project Managers through design, construction and commissioning deliverables;

(7) Support originations team with bid activities as it relates to technical documents for RFP’s;

(8) Remain up-to-date on all relevant new and upcoming technologies and policies at ISOs/TROs;

(9) Develop and create new methodologies, tools and procedures to improve efficiencies in the project lifecycle; and

(10) Perform in-house studies to support Internal stakeholders during Interconnection process.

Education/Experience Requirements

25% domestic travel.

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Must have functional knowledge in the following: Renewable industry, utility or RTO/ISO; Software used in Interconnection studies (PSS/E and PSLF); Interconnection procedure at Utilities, ISOs/RTOs and Transmission Providers; Complex Interconnection study reports; Microsoft Office products; NERC TPL-001-4.
