This role is on a consulting basis, but does offer the opportunity to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate. As the Interim Controller, you will oversee a team of 4 and ensure the seamless financial operations of our client’s organization. Title:Interim Controller Location:Chicago, IL (Lincoln Park area) Hourly Rate:Pay $65-$75 per hour Job Type:Interim role with potential for conversion Key Responsibilities: • Manage and mentor a team of 4 (Sr. Acct, Staff Acct, and 2 Acct Clerks). • Oversee full-cycle accounting and ensure compliance with internal controls. • Complex financial reporting. • Revenue recognition, fund accounting and investment accounting which ca be complicated. • Approve payroll (hours loaded into the system by HR). • Prepare support for workpapers for upcoming audit.Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Controller role. • Solid accounting expertise and able to handle day to day accounting functions • Strong systems proficiency and ability to quickly learn new systems. • Experience in fund and investment accounting. • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills including strategic consideration and thinking about the future. • Ability to work onsite 3-4 days a week in Chicago (Lincoln Park area). • Demonstrated success in managing and developing finance teams. • Strong communication skills, capable of working with senior leadership.
