Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX: 

 

As an Intermediate Engineer specializing in Front-End Development, you'll play a crucial role in developing, deploying, and maintaining our guest-facing eCommerce websites. Working within an agile framework, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet the dynamic business requirements of our global marketplace.

 

You will also contribute to the architecture, design methodology, and technology strategy alongside web architects and the web development lead. Your balance of strong technical skills, technology acumen, and people skills contributes to consistent, high-quality, and timely solutions for the internal business clients.

 

This position is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office, but we're open to a hybrid or remote work setup. Please note that candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. 


Meet Your Future Team: 

The Engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining the Arc’teryx eCommerce website. The team is organized into squads that include other developers, Quality Analysts, Business Analysts and Project Managers. Engineers work closely and collaboratively with many other teams including UI/UX Design, Infrastructure, Digital Merchandising, Marketing, and Analytics.

If you were Intermediate Engineer now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Collaborating with senior engineers to develop and implement front-end solutions for web applications, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery
  • Participating in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency
  • Contributing to the architecture and design of web applications, adhering to best practices and industry standards
  • Assisting in coaching and mentoring junior developers, fostering their growth and development within the team
  • Engaging in continuous learning and exploration of new technologies to enhance our digital properties and improve efficiency
  • Supporting the maintenance and documentation of existing solutions, ensuring they remain robust and scalable

  • Building and delivering maintainable, high-quality software to support the growth and maintenance of a best-in-class ecommerce experience.
  • Implementing React components to support the redesign of our Catalog pages
  • Architecting structured content in a CMS
  • Pivoting our technology stack and user experiences if the need arises

Are you our next Intermediate Engineer?

  • You have 3+ years relevant experience in web application development
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • You have proficiency in front end technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Node
  • You have experience with unit testing frameworks
  • You have familiarity with project management tools like Jira and version control systems such as Git
  • You have knowledge of eCommerce business processes
  • You have experience with with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • You have familiarity with AWS or other cloud computing platforms
  • You have understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • You have familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Sanity, Contentful, Drupal
  • You have experience with Styled Components
  • You have understanding of Web Analytics and Business Intelligence principles
  • You have strong knowledge or interest in the outdoor, ski, or sporting goods industries
  • You take a proactive approach to identifying root causes of issues and developing solutions
  • You have ability to remain highly flexible and adaptable in ambiguous situations
