Intermediate QA Analyst

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate QA Analyst to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role you will primarily focus on embodying the user designing and executing manual smoke and usability tests as well as automating end-to-end API and regression tests. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products contributing to the overall success of our development process.

Key Responsibilities

Manual Testing

1.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and develop comprehensive test plans for smoke usability and regression testing in the test management tool.

2.  Execute manual smoke tests to quickly identify critical defects and ensure the stability of new software builds.

3.  Conduct usability tests to assess the user-friendliness and overall user experience of our products.

4.  Document test results defects and observations in a clear and organised manner.

5.  Work closely with developers to communicate identified issues and verify fixes.

6.  Reproduce issues and feedback provided by the community in Github be able to work with developers on any confirmed issues and be able to report back to the user on updates.

7.  Proficiency in technical product testing to ensure that it meets specified technical requirements performs reliably and functions correctly under various conditions.

Test Automation

1.  Design develop and maintain automated test scripts using JavaScript-based frameworks and tools.

2.  Identify and prioritize test cases suitable for automation especially those related to regression testing.

3.  Execute automated regression tests to validate the stability of software releases and ensure compatibility across different platforms and devices.

4.  Conduct API testing to ensure the functionality reliability and performance of backend services preferably have experience with tools such as Postman.

5.  Integrate automated tests into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

6.  Help with fixing any flaky or ever-failing tests during builds.

Test Strategy and Improvements

1.  Contribute to the enhancement of testing frameworks methodologies and best practices.

2.  Participate in test planning and test case review sessions providing valuable insights and feedback.

3.  Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the QA process.

Reporting and Communication

1. Generate test reports with the help of the test management tool summarising test activities results and metrics for the development team and other stakeholders.

2.  Clearly communicate test progress results and any potential roadblocks to product owners and team leads.

3. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including developers product owners and designers to ensure alignment on testing objectives and outcomes.

Qualifications

1.  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2.  5+ years of experience in quality assurance and software testing including test automation.

3.  Strong proficiency in designing and executing manual smoke tests and usability tests.

4.  Experience in creating and maintaining automated test scripts using JavaScript-based testing frameworks (e.g. Jest Mocha Jasmine [ Cypress.io ]( http://cypress.io/ ' http://cypress.io/ ') CodeceptJS).

5.  Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and their integration with automated tests.

6.  Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and testing methodologies.

7.  Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

8.  Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

9.  Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git).

$100000 - $120000 a year
