Your Part in It:
The Intermodal Manager will be responsible for running a team, setting metrics, KPI's and will be an integral part of the success for our team growth here at Traffic Tech. The ideal candidate will have drayage, pricing, and leadership experience. Experience growing a team from scratch is preferred but not required. You will be reporting to the VP of Carrier Sales and the position is located in the Chicago office.
INTERMODAL MANAGER
Job Responsibilities
:

• Inspire, lead, actively manage and develop the intermodal operations team to achieve departmental and individual goals
• This position will lead a group of Operations Reps that are responsible for sourcing equipment carrier capacity for domestic intermodal shipments
• Maintain a real-time "pulse" on the team regarding all sourcing, negotiation and booking of shipments
• Identify, measure and track productivity of team
• Define, identify, and convey key metrics and measurements to team and report to upper management
• Identify potential opportunities or problems and diagnose root causes
• Work with equipment providers to ensure adequate supplies are allotted to meet customer requirements on a daily and weekly basis
• Promote relationships with all equipment vendors
  • Handle pricing negotiations with carrier partners and rail lines
• Create and deliver accurate, high quality, and thoughtfully designed reporting to ensure that operational, revenue and profitability are maximized
• Work in unison with Drayage department leadership to bolster and foster growth within both departments

Qualifications & Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience running a team and working in the 3pl industry is a must have
• Experience in pricing is required
  • Setting up ramp to ramp rates directly with rails is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.

This is a full-time permanent position from Monday to Friday.
