The Advanced Analytics group is seeking a motivated, experienced AI engineer or data scientist to provide support for the CTO organization located at ADI's San Jose office. The goal of the Advanced Analytics group is to be a transformative force, leveraging modern data, AI, and ML methods to enhance decision-making, technology and profitability across the enterprise. As an Advanced Analytics intern, you will contribute to the development of new analytics products including predictive and descriptive models, learning algorithms, and business/process models. You can expect to be assigned to a project that supports our strategic and tactical goals, while gaining exposure to management and cross-functional teams. Finally, our team has hired successful past interns as full-time employees.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Serve as a contributor to the development of new analytics products and strategies supporting the enterprise. Develop product, business, and process models, and identify/leverage new data sources.
  • Build, refine and leverage predictive and descriptive models, learning algorithms and data mining tools to improve insights, enhance data-driven business strategies and increase profitability.
  • Effectively communicate and translate results to ADI's leadership and business unit teams.

Minimum qualifications

  • Academic: Ph.D. Candidate in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or other quantitative discipline
  • Specialization: AI, machine learning, graph theory, mathematical finance, or related quantitative field
  • Experience: developing enterprise algorithms and models, building AI and machine learning systems, rapid prototyping of analytic solutions and algorithms
  • Software: Demonstrated expertise using Python and SQL is required
  • Graduation Date: Spring/Summer 2024 or 2025

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with modern AI / ML models, LLMs, embeddings, software tools, and analysis methods
  • Experience in developing prediction algorithms, solutions to prescriptive analytics problems, data mining techniques and/or econometric models
  • Experience with graph theory, graph neural networks, or graph embeddings
  • Ability to rapidly prototype analytic solutions and algorithms in Python
  • Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, including the use of IDEs, version control, data types, functions, classes, and libraries
  • Familiarity with software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, decomposition, abstraction, and testing.
