Department/Position Description:
Competitive Intelligence/GIS manages a centralized database that tracks competitor information and activities, including openings, closings, remodels, and their impact on ADUSA store locations. This data is essential for mapping, location research, sales forecasting, spatial analysis, and conducting comprehensive competitive research.
The intern will work closely with a team of Competitive Intelligence Analysts, gaining hands-on experience with a variety of analytical tasks typical of the department. Responsibilities include data entry, data validation, research, and report generation. Additionally, the intern will complete a capstone project involving the collection and analysis of multiple datasets using Alteryx, culminating in the creation of an interactive Power BI report that highlights the results of their analysis.
Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and thrive in a team environment. A positive attitude is essential.

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with Power BI is an advantage.

• Capable of working with medium to large datasets. Familiarity with relational databases and SQL is a plus.

• Skilled in analyzing datasets and creating compelling narratives based on findings. Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, or similar is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, as the analyst will be expected to collaborate with teammates, make calls, and participate in fieldwork.
