Job Description

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week, paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company.Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. In addition, through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key concepts within the divisional tracks of Information Technology, Actuarial, Analytics & Data, Clinical Studies, web-based Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other technical based degree programs.

  • This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
  • May reside in either a technical or non-technical area
  • Development events are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment.
  • Housing is not provided as part of our program.


Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Within this role, you will work to innovate metrics to demonstrate the return on investment of enhancing communications based on member insight. You will have the opportunity to evaluate data to showcase ROI or identify opportunities. When communication opportunities are identified, you will also be able to assist in reviewing, editing and writing communications based on member insight feedback insight. In addition to tactical work, you will be able to participate in strategy and training work as the team helps the organization think and act differently through human-center design sessions with other business units.

  • Functions performed are technical in nature and will cover a broad range of business-related projects
  • Creates and delivers presentation at completion of internship

Minimum Qualifications:

The preferred skills for our ideal candidate include but are not limited to: Previous work experience in a call center or a role that requires writing highly desirable. Experience with MURAL, PowerPoint, Excel or like tools also desirable, but not required.

Desired majors include: Business Administration, Communication, Marketing, Analytics or related field

General Technical:

  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with staff at all levels of the company.
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing their assigned tasks.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of their own skill and team functioning.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams where needed.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work at a computer for two or more hours at a time.
  • Ability to use a phone and/or TTD as needed.
