How you'll make a difference:

Develop instrument designs for current, ongoing, and/or next-gen cervical spine projects by supporting and assisting the engineers on the cervical team. You will focus on instrument design, modeling, and drawing creation. Participate in weekly core team meetings and surgeon calls or on-site meetings, in bench top testing and cadaver lab(s) to evaluate designs and test instruments and implants in simulated surgical settings.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Work within a project team to contribute original concepts for new product development
  • Provide weekly progress status updates to Project Lead
  • Generate CAD models and engineering drawings
  • Generate documentation to support designs in accordance with Design Control and Risk Management procedures
  • Write and perform Test Protocols and Reports
  • Interact with cross-functional teams to support project objectives
  • Coordinate manufacturing with 3rd party vendors

Who you are:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Enrollment in Bachelor's or Master's degree program
  • Junior or Senior level standing, or graduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • A basic understanding of CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, or NX)
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel)
  • Engineering discipline of study in Mechanical, Biomechanical, or Bioengineering
  • Prior internship experience (medical device, ideally but not required)

The anticipated base hourly rate for this position is $22.00 per hour. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
