We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic college students for our 12-week paid summer internship program.

The Digital Capabilities Manager Intern will work closely with the Omni and Digital team to enhance the bank's digital platforms and customer experiences. This role involves working with our Digital Capabilities team to evaluate our digital platforms, execute platform-related initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize online services. The intern will also assist in project management and contribute to the development and execution of digital strategies to drive customer engagement and business growth.
Below is what you can expect to learn from an internship in our Digital Capabilities Management department at First Merchants Bank:
- Gain hands-on experience in executing digital initiatives, including planning, implementation, and performance analysis.
- Develop an understanding of digital banking technologies, from mobile apps to online portals.
- Acquire skills in data analytics and reporting, using tools to measure digital engagement.
- Learn the fundamentals of project management within a cross-functional team, including planning, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
- Gain exposure to compliance and security protocols relevant to digital platforms in the banking industry.

In addition to the learning objectives, all interns will participate as a group in a community service project. There will also be the opportunity to network with our Senior Leaders during our final presentation event in the last week of the program. Each intern will present to the wider intern group, managers and senior leaders about the projects they were involved in and takeaways that will help them be successful in their careers.
Who is qualified to apply?
Students must:
- be a degree-seeking full time student at an accredited college or university.
- be available to work 40 hours per week from May 13, 2024 through August 2, 2024.
- be authorized to work in the United States.
- have demonstrated interest in the industry and/or specific area of interest as exemplified through past work experience, internships and/or major course of study.
- possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- have strong written and verbal communication skills
- be able and willing to travel periodically, if required
